The process of buying property in Turkey as a foreigner is relatively straightforward, but it is important to understand the legal requirements and regulations involved. Here are the general steps you need to take:

  1. ​​Find a property: The first step is to find a property that meets
    your needs and budget. You can search for properties online or with the help of a real estate agent.

  2. Sign a sales agreement: Once you have found a property, you will need to sign a sales agreement with the seller. This agreement should include the purchase price, payment terms, and other important details.

  3. Obtain a Turkish Tax Number: To purchase property in Turkey, you will need to obtain a Turkish tax number. You can obtain this number from the local tax office in Turkey.

  4. Open a Turkish Bank Account: You will also need to open a bank account in Turkey to transfer funds for the purchase.

  5. Obtain a Military Clearance: As a foreigner, you will need to obtain a military clearance before you can complete the purchase. This process can take several weeks. Our properties at Buy in Bodrum all have clearance.

  6. Transfer the title deed: The title deed will be transferred to your name. You can complete the transfer at the Land Registry Office in Turkey.

  7. Pay the fees: You will need to pay various fees associated with the purchase, including the purchase tax, notary fees, and registration fees.
